We’ve had enough of digital monopolies and surveillance capitalism. We want an alternative world that works for everyone, just like the original intention of the web and net.

We seek a world of open platforms and protocols with real choices of applications and services for people. We care about privacy, transparency and autonomy. Our tools and organisations should fundamentally be accountable and resilient.

Thank you everyone who's responded and contacted me! I've started a planning doc here: http://piratepad.nl/rdc

Next steps are to finalise what it is and logistics. My aim is to explore projects that are or can become big enough to change the status quo. Figure out what it will take to get decentralized apps mainstream. Have fun and experiment. Try things out. Discover new ideas of what might be possible and unique selling points of decentralization.

I would love volunteers to help. Those who've spoken up already and anyone else interested - let's get together on a planning call. Please add your name in the doc (http://piratepad.nl/rdc ) and let me know what times you can do by adding +1 / -1.

Looking forward to making this happen!

P.S. I'm going to CCC this year, will be there Thurs pm - Mon, who else is going to be around?

Same here. I'd be glad to help if it's in Berlin!
