Redecentralize

We’ve had enough of digital monopolies and surveillance capitalism. We want an alternative world that works for everyone, just like the original intention of the web and net.

We seek a world of open platforms and protocols with real choices of applications and services for people. We care about privacy, transparency and autonomy. Our tools and organisations should fundamentally be accountable and resilient.

Great Idea. We do have someone who will be live streaming all the main talks although I think we most likely will not have enough resources to stream some of the unconference sessions. We'll put the links up on the website for tomorrow for people to tune in and on youtube afterwards. We have 3 rooms and also some free spaces which will have various things going on. If people want use Periscope as well I think it's a good idea.

+1, I'd be very grateful if I could follow along from Norway!

I'm hugely interested in following the event, but being in Macau makes
it infeasible to drop by London on this occasion.

If there aren't any 'official' webcasts, will it be possible for
participants to Periscope the sessions? If yes, then I'll gladly send
Bitcoin tips to any volunteers who take up the task, and will encourage
others from the Bitcoin community to do so.

Off to a nice start. Will there be more live-streams?

Dear all,

I'm sorry I could not make it this week-end, I hope you have great
discussions! As I know Julien is among you, maybe he can tell about
this initiative that we have in France since 2013 :

  https://hackadon.org/fr/

"Hackadons" are events sponsored by companies or initiatives where
we give the money to participants so that they can give it back to
projects contributing to the commons.

Here is the manifesto :

We fight for a (re)decentralized Internet.

Redecentralizing Internet is a manyfold challenge: it is a technical,
a legal and political one. But it is also a financial challenge.

To many free softwares and common goods projects are not financially
supported. To many of these projects rely on the good will and the
free time of a fistul of people.

Hackadons' goal is to foster fix this, project by project.

I hope the "financial" dimension will be part of your discussions,
and I'm sorry again I could not make it!

Cheers,
