Redecentralize

We’ve had enough of digital monopolies and surveillance capitalism. We want an alternative world that works for everyone, just like the original intention of the web and net.

We seek a world of open platforms and protocols with real choices of applications and services for people. We care about privacy, transparency and autonomy. Our tools and organisations should fundamentally be accountable and resilient.

Paul Frazee [LibreList] Local.js framework 2014-03-15 17:31:04 (7 years 23 days 13:22:00 ago)
Hey all,

I've launched a marketing and docs site for the Local.js framework at http://httplocal.com/. Local.js is an open-source security and IPC framework for running plugins in Web applications. As I mentioned earlier, it's goal is to improve user autonomy from hosts by freely extending Web software at runtime.

If anybody wants to discuss how they might put the framework to use in an application, feel free to email me (pfrazee@gmail.com) or ping me at #httpl in freenode.

Be well,
Paul F

Redecentralize,

We're thinking of shaking up the redecentralize meetup format a little
by having either hands-on sessions, speakers (long form or lightning
talks) or a social for a month's meetup.
Preferences?
Topics?
Any volunteers for speaking or running a hands-on session or speaking?

Next meetup would be early-mid April.

Thanks,
nonmonotonix.

This for London meetup?

Ideas I had:

1) TextSecure install-o-thon. We'd all install it (and text our
friends asking them to!), cross verify keys in person. Then go
through their bug tracker and help triage and add bugs, and send pull
requests for simple things like documentation improvements. Focus on
usability.

2) TeleHash tryout. They did this at the Colorado meetup, so could ask
for hints as to what worked. But basically, install TeleHash and send
each other messages and play with simple apps on top of it.
